Fortress of Badassitude
Anchan the Destroyer - The Quickie
26 plays

This is a song I actually wrote a couple of years ago, but I thought I’d do a take of it in Mixcraft for 9/19. It’s an absolutely TASTELESS ode to my favorite Robot Master. ;D Happy Quick Day, everyone!

Well I knew this game would satisfy

When that one speed demon caught my eye

In the top right corner of my menu screen

You were red and shiny as a brand new bike

Sleek and cocky, just the way I like

Thought I could battle you all day, if you know what I mean

Well I’ve had 7 bots in a few short hours

Went to their rooms and saw their powers

None of them did a thing for me, it’s true…

Yeah, Bubble was easy, and Wood was fine

And Flash stopped the clock to buy his cannon some time…

But I need it hard and fast, so I’ve come to you!

Quickie, I can hear your motor run

Open up that gate and let’s have some fun

I brought 2 E-tanks and a can of W.D.

These killer beams can’t bring me down

Just like a boomerang, I come back around

'Cause Quickie, you've made an addict out of me!

I’ve been fallin’ through these holes all day

But you know I just can’t keep away

'Cause for you I'd overcome most anything

Now I’d take down any miniboss

And there ain’t no pit I wouldn’t cross

Just to get another shot of your gasoline! (Fill ‘er up!)

Yeah, spikes and water were too much hassle

So I just gave up on that lousy castle

Now we got time to play the whole night through

Gonna make you twist, gonna make you shout

Till your circuits fry and smoke comes out

And you can’t shoot off until I tell you to!

(Chorus x2)

(I told you it was tasteless!)

I’m sorry, I feel like I need to explain something.

Starlight Express.

It’s awesome.

It’s a musical.

And it’s all done on Roller skates/blades.

And one of the characters in it reminds me of Hans from Frozen.

It’s also made by the same guy who made a musical about cats and opera phantoms.

I might start drawing the characters from it, but they’re a little hard to draw.

Cartoony human-trains, here we come!

if anyone remembers the story that was making rounds a while back about a 19 year old discovering the solution to cleaning up the pacific garbage patch, that project launched a fundraider which now has 7 days to reach it’s goal.

5 days left to go, only about 200,000 short of a 2 million goal

Signal boost! Fuckin a.

the notebook problem: you see a notebook. you want to buy the notebook. but you know you have like TEN OTHER NOTEBOOKS. most which are STILL EMPTY. you don’t need to notebook. you’re probably not gonna use the notebook anyway. what’s the point? DONT BUY THE NOTEBOOK. you buy the notebook.

Those birds didn’t get far…

Today some malls in Berlin were open. In one Starlight Express Cast sang some songs. Here are some photos of it :)

The Ever-changing Wardrobe of Stephanie Lawrence as Pearl.

The earliest press images for Starlight Express show us what I refer to as “Aerobics Pearl” - neon pink and black in a look that could only have happened in 1984.  The stockings and mesh V neck, it’s all just…  whut? How does this represent the Ingénue role?

Then for the big press call, she had the simpler, more elegant pink and black outfit.  It looks like this costume was used for the premiere, and is used in about half the brochure photos. Although there’s two alternate sets of shoulders, notably smaller caps, or the more shaped and prominent cape shape.

Then, it seems, it occurred to someone that maybe “Pearl”, our heroine, our ingenue, a sweet and foolish dreamer of a girl, perhaps pale girly pink would suit her better?  This one photo of her racing with Electa, all in pale pink but without a skirt… quick compromise for the photoshoot?  something went wrong in wardrobe?  Or did they try her wearing a sleek outfit as the pink and black, only without the black?

But they obviously decided in the end to go a cuter, girlier route with her costume, and settled on “Tutu Pearl”. All net underskirt, a touch of ruffles, the dynamic shaped shoulders suggesting speedy movement…  and of course, pretty, girly, pearly colours.  Seems obvious now, but clearly some designs simply take longer to get to than others!
